Note: This course can be delivered so that it also includes the qualification of HLTAID001 - Provide CPR.
This course is designed to train personnel working on or with live electrical switchboards, workplaces and environments (defined as less than 1000V AC or 1500V DC) not including overhead lines and underground cables, in how to respond and manage First Aid emergencies that may happen while working around electricity.
This course is taught by highly experienced emergency service instructors who have a strong background in Emergency Medical Response. The course is designed for First Aiders to perform a LV Panel rescue and manage casualty care until the arrival of an Ambulance.
This unit is concerned with the student’s ability to carry out and manage a casualty in a safe manner within the requirements of the Office of the Technical Regulator whose job it is to oversee electrical safety matters on behalf of the SA Department of Transport Energy Infrastructure.
The requirements to be met can be found in the Electricity Act 1996 and the Electricity general Regulations 2012.
Note: Nation wide it is now mandatory to attend a UETTDRRF06B – Perform Rescue From Live LV Panel Refresher/CPR every 12 months.
